10/2013 - Mertik Maxitrol and Maxitrol Company exhibited at 2013 HOST

Mertik Maxitrol and its U.S. affiliate, Maxitrol Company, exhibited at the 2013 Host, the International Exhibition of the Hospitality Industry. The Host was held October 18 -22 at the Fieramilano Exhibition Center, Rho, Italy. Mertik Maxitrol used the world’s leading food service equipment show as the forum to introduce its new GV30A gas combination control system.

"We were extremely pleased with the number and quality of the visitors at this year’s Host,” said Mertik Maxitrol Managing Director Larry C. Koskela. “We spoke with a number of international companies who showed great interest in our GV30A series as well as other technologies we’ve developed for the cooking industry."

Despite the current economic downturn, the 2013 Host was an unequivocal success with more the 130,000 visitors attending the trade fair from 162 countries. The final visitor tally represents a healthy 7% rise over Host attendance in 2011. Exhibitors numbered 1,700 from 48 countries, and food service equipment was displayed for a number of industries: pizza, pasta, coffee, pastry, gelato/ice cream, and tableware.

"The quality of the meetings we had with visitors - visitors from all over the world - was significant,” said Thomas Wilkerling, vice president of sales for Mertik Maxitrol. “We received exceptionally positive feedback regarding the GV30A multi-functional control. Frankly, it far exceeded even my expectations.”

Mertik Maxitrol’s GV series gas combination controls were designed for the precise and efficient control of the pilot and the main burner. The new GV30A was developed specifically for commercial cooking equipment. Features include temperature control or manual operation, temperature sensors with ranges between 30°C (86°F) and 340°C (644°F), and a capacity flow rate (without pressure regulator) up to 30% higher than the GV30 series. GV30A offers the following options: push button electronic ignition, push button battery igniter, LED pilot indicator, ergonomic knob or D-stem, and faceplate and large temperature knob.

Mertik Maxitrol and Maxitrol Company provide a wide assortment of gas controls to the commercial cooking industry that includes gas pressure governors, electronic gas modulation systems, gas filters, and gas safety devices. Applications for these products encompass most commercial cooking equipment, including frytops, fryers, ovens, bain maries, bread and cooking pans, pizza ovens, and grills.
